How Does A Photographer Take Their Own Photos? Newborn | Maternity | Family Photography, Devon & Cornwall
As a photographer, taking self-portraits is a wonderful and liberating experience. It allows me to step in front of the camera and become the subject of my own creativity. Capturing a self-portrait allows me to showcase my personality, my style, and my mood in a unique and personal way.
One of the joys of taking self-portraits is the freedom to experiment with different poses, lighting, and backgrounds. Whether I’m at the beach, in my studio, or exploring the city, I can always find new and exciting ways to express myself through my self-portraits.
Self-portraits are also a great way to document my journey as a photographer. Each self-portrait captures a moment in time, and allows me to see how I’ve grown and evolved as a creative individual.
Additionally, self-portraits are a fun and playful way to connect with others. Sharing my self-portraits online allows me to engage with my followers, receive feedback, and inspire others to explore their own creativity.
With our camera’s technology these day it’s so easy! One of my cameras (my little m6) connects to my phone so I can focus, pose and compose my self portraits. Before this I had to guess the focus, have a wide aperture and pray it focused! See my little video reel guide below…
In short, taking self-portraits is a joyous and fulfilling part of my life as a photographer. It allows me to express myself, document my journey, and connect with others in a unique and personal way. While self-portraits allow me to express my own creativity and showcase my style, my client work brings me even greater joy. There is something truly special about capturing memories for others and preserving important moments in people's lives. The satisfaction I feel from delivering beautiful images to my clients, knowing they will cherish them for years to come, is truly priceless. At the end of the day, my client work is what drives me as a photographer and I am grateful for every opportunity to make a difference in someone's life through my art.
