Motherhood has always been a complex territory, filled with contradictions. It has been both revered and dismissed, celebrated and marginalized. And I mean THE dreamiest shoot. Everything was perfect- the light, the location (Thurlestone Beach/South Milton Sands is a dream in itself) my beautiful models, the breeze, the weather (thank bloody hell- I’d gone through 4 sets of models and four different shoot days for this!). Alright, let's talk about halation - the glowy haze that bright objects sometimes give off in photos and films. You might think it's a quirky bit of camera work, a lens problem… but it's actually a totally intentional effect that's become super popular in recent years.

The location for this shoot was Windout Farm’s old piggery which has been lovingly (and tastefully) restored. The sunlight was INSANELY bright, which posed some challenges for photography and annoyed me no end after weeks over atmospheric fog and rain, but I was excited to see what I could capture in this beautiful setting.
