A Stunning Lifestyle Maternity Photo Shoot in Totnes, Devon

K, one of my favourite models, helped out on a recent workshop that I was running/teaching at. Beautiful and so very patient- she was a dream to work with (Thankyou!).

Initially my plan was to go outdoors with her, but the light was a bit bright and harsh, plus we had rented a beautiful cottage for the retreat (thankyou Pitt Farms) so decided to make use of that for an ‘at home’ styled maternity shoot.

The nostalgic, film noir, soft feel of these images draws me towards the black and whites for most of these but I wanted to showcase the colour too, because… how good does she look in colour?! So I’m going to do a monochromatic and then a colour gallery below and you’ll see what I mean.

One thing I love best about shooting indoors is the chance you get to play around with window light, light streams, reflections, mirrors and varying soft and hard lights. It is wonderful for playing around with and experimenting, and these experiments are almost always my favourite images in galleries like this.
